Who all of us like to begin our mornings with a cup of warm coffee and some delicious toast? Well, I for one, absolutely love it. As a kid it was no surprise that I loved toasts so much. In India, we have different versions of toasts and it is not just limited to bread. But one of my favorites was toast and jam. I would lather my toasted bread with a very thick layer of jam, mostly fruit jam, and have it with a glass full of milk. Well, it’s almost 2 decades later and not much has changed.

Every time I feel like making something simple, hassle-free, quick, and yet filling, or something to have on the go, I make toasts. And over the few years of time, I have tried so many versions of toasts. So, I thought, why not share them with you too!

  1. Cinnamon French Toast

This cinnamon French toast recipe is ideal for the times when you want to eat something really delicious with rich flavours but do not want to invest a lot of time in it. This recipe requires minimum ingredients and the least efforts it could take to make a classy, healthy, flavorful breakfast. And don’t forget to have a steamy cup of coffee with it. I usually like to have a black coffee with these toasts as the sweetness of cinnamon and the strong flavour of the coffee blend really well for me.

2. Sweet Potato Toast

There are two ways I like to make this toast. One of the ways is by using the sweet potato slices as the toast and layering on top of it. I like to either grill it or toast it and add a thick layer of either hummus or guacamole and top it with a sunny side up. The second way I like to have it is to bake the sweet potatoes, mash it, add some spices and layer it on toast with some lettuce and spicy sauces.

3. Avocado Toast

We all know about avocado toast don’t we? And we all have our own ways of making them. I, who usually loves to experiment, likes my avocado toast in the most basic ways possible. Hence, I go for the classic avocado toast without mixing and matching much with it.

4. Chickpea Toast

If I am in the mood for some crunch, I like to bake my chickpeas first and then put them on top of my toast with some guacamole. But I also like to boil my chickpeas, mash them, and layer them on top on toast. I also make masala chickpeas toast which is a combination of western and desi style. Instead of making an open toast, I like to make a masala chickpeas sandwich.

This list can continue for as long as eternity because toast is such a diverse breakfast option that we all like to make in our way. These were my top choices. How bout you?
